Biodiversity

We believe it is important to create and maintain a sustainable park that helps protect the environment whilst providing natural areas for ourselves and future generations.

The site comprises of grasslands, wildflower meadows, bushes and trees offering a natural habitat for a rich variety of butterflies, moths, bees, insects, birds and other wildlife. The site is sign posted as a “Bee Friendly” area as part of Denbighshire’s campaign to increase the number of wildflower sites across the county.

We also have three large timber planters at the park entrance with a selection of wildflowers. Plans are in hand to plant more trees and create a hedgerow.

All organic waste material such dry leaves, twigs, hollow stems, dead grass, pinecones and bit of bark are composted on site. This helps  create a natural habitat for varied species of insects and wildlife.

The “bug hotel” created using piles of tree branches and is also a popular destination for insects and more. It is a plastic free site and we positively encourage recycling.
